| AP3 returns under new management |
 That's right!...
It's official; Amateurs' Practice - NOVICES ONLY!!(3) has returned! Check out the new server as soon as you get a chance. After all, we need to load test this server and make sure that we're happy with it before we commit to the new host (which will remain nameless until we have made a final decision):

In the spirit of our renewed server, I have made the executive decision to wave all temporary and permanent bans (with the exception of caught or known hackers/cheaters). This means new beginnings for everybody, so please do not squander it. My hope is that this fresh beginning will give us all a chance to start over and resume having fun together as we have for well over 5 years!
Please report any and all issues and give us feedback on the new server, with the exception of ping complaints.

| Zeroservers is closing... |
I have some dire news to deliver... Unfortunately, I received word from our hosting company that they will be shutting down their game server hosting operations effective in the next two weeks. This was the official notice that I received:
Zeroservers is officially closing its doors to gameservers.
Only Webhosting will remain Open
The following datacenters will end on the listed dates.
Washington DC - November 5th
All clients that have prepaid balances will have there accounts prorated and the
balance refunded on on the closing days of their respective datacenter.
Anyone having websites that would like to keep them will be switched to a
hosting account.
Zeroservers Administration
The ap.breakout server was already taken offline, though I was able to make a backup before this could be done. I am in the process of backing up AP3 and AP4 in preparation of this upcoming shutdown.
Suffices to say that we need to raise a significant amount of funds in order to secure a successful and smooth transition. Traditionally, since December 2004, we have prepaid the AP3 server for each new year (usually right around Christmas time, as AP3 was originally my Christmas gift to the clan). That being said, I will be looking for a new home for AP3 the rest of this week and the beginning of next. I will need to raise at least US $50 between now and then to cover the costs of the first month's move. From there, I would like to raise as much as $300 so we can lock it in for another year of [AP] fun!
Please... if you have some funds to offer, even if it is just $1 (or $13.37), please visit our Donations page. This is your chance to join the [AP] Pillars of Support! There are also some merchandise options (very limited right now) that you can consider as a way of contributing to the clan while getting something in return. Years after his early clan tenure, and later under the label of Garion Oldwolf, he founded the [AP].159th Brigade: our mighty DOD 1.6 team of old... As the years wore on, we eventually lost him to his WW2 lust...
But, as has proven true of many [AP]ers over the years, this prodigal son has finally returned home! Please, help me give a warm "welcome back" to the one!... the only!...

Following a very extensive application and review process, I have some exciting news to announce... Once upon a time, his name was synonymous with Sev's Mod domination. His peers have always been among the best of the best. Until recently, he had always been more infamous than famous... But today, the past becomes the past, and he is born anew into our ranks. Please, help me give a warm welcome to [AP]'s newest White (Squad) Boy:

Some of you may once have known him as =/S3/=Ikon, of the mighty Severian's Elite Clan. The prestige of his former clan was always founded in their collective skill, utterly dominating the Sev's world for years... Nowadays, Alex is eager to be among friends again (and he has come to the right place for that!)
With that in mind, I hope you will all aid me in making him feel welcome. In time, I'm sure he will once again be a skilled and powerful asset to our competitive team... But, I look forward to helping him get acquainted in the meantime. He has a lot to offer, but especially as a friend. I know; I speak from experience. :) |

| AP3 Stats Restored Pending New Version |
No, your eyes do not deceive you; despite months upon months of delay, BuM has decided to release the current incarnation of the [AP]3 Server Stats for public consumption, effective immediately! For those who may be wondering why it took so long... please realize that the stats are not 100% bug free in Version 3.2-beta (latest build).
There is a silver lining, however. The author of Psychostats, StormTrooper, has announced a complete overhaul of his fantastic Statistics package in the upcoming Version 4.0. Even more exciting: he has granted BuMHeD the status of "Beta Tester," giving him the inside track on the development of the upcoming version. Optimistically, this means the potential for a much more compatible and stable Half-Life Stats engine, including support for the aging Bubblemod.
So, for the time being, please enjoy the live, up-to-the-minute stats. Bigger and better things are on the way!! |

On January 16th, as a reward for winning the STX Series III Tournament, FatPipes Hosting awarded our tertiary team, the Friends of [AP], or [FoAP], with a 12-player Half-Life server for two (2) months, rent free!! Because the [FoAP] team was largely comprised of enthusiasts of the mod Adrenaline Gamer (AG), the server has been configured and named accordingly.
The people at FatPipes have a reputation for quality hosting. If this server proves to be a worthwhile investment, we may consider funding it beyond the free months that our team has won for us. Until then (March 16th, 2009), we encourage you to make the most of this server. Contributing members of the [FoAP] team will be granted sole Admin rights (limited) as a token of our gratitude for their service.

After a very sly tease from Officer [AP]Dirty Harry back on Jan 19th, the lingering mystery of "what's coming" was finally answered today by none other than the mighty...

The name alone can be tied to one thing, and one thing only: Amateurs' Practice - NOVICES ONLY!!(2)... yes, that's AP2! Accordingly, in a most unexpected, yet familiar fashion, Crim announced the (temporary) return of AP2 for ONE DAY ONLY -- Saturday, January 31 @ 11:59 PM EST until Sunday, February 1st @ 11:59 PM EST (just before midnight).
Because of this extremely punctuated time-frame, enthusiasts old and new are encouraged to budget their time wisely on Sunday. A compromise between football and Half-Life will be essential if you wish to savor this once-every-five-year opportunity! Tentative plans are to have a "No Holds Barred" Crowbar Match in AP2 at 10:00 PM EST on Sunday. Don't miss it!
